I have a Vista 20P panel with the alarm.com SEM, with three alphanumeric keypads around the house. This works fine, until the point that I want/need to change something in the system. The manuals are comprehensive to make the changes via the keypad, but, is there something I could purchase which allows to me add/remove zones for example in a far simpler manner? I always worry that I’m going to get lost in the system, trigger an alarm despite a methodical approach.
For example, could I switch out one of the keypads with a more advanced, user-friendly keypad. How about a tablet-like interface which allows me to fully customize the Vista 20P panel?
The SEM is compatible with Advanced User Interface (AUI) devices, including the Honeywell 6280 and 6270, Tuxedo Touch.
Arming, disarming, panics, and alarms initiated on these keypads are processed by Alarm.com and reported to the monitoring station. However, bypassing open sensors and tracking the specific user that arms/disarms the system are not processed by Alarm.com using the dual path SEM unless the keypad is used in Console mode.
To put the touchscreen keypad into Console Mode:
From the Home screen, press the Security icon
Press the Console Mode icon
Functions can now be performed as they would from a standard alpha keypad.
