How exactly does the max storage work?
I thought that as the storage reached the limit, older videos would just delete to make room for new ones.
My system will just stop recording new videos without erasing older ones.
I have put in a request for a storage upgrade but would like to know how this works.
Thanks!
As it is a data service, there is a maximum upload amount and a max storage amount. Uploads are on a per-month basis.
The oldest saved clips will in fact be overwritten by new ones if they are not marked as “protected” but if you reach the monthly upload quota all non-alarm generated recordings will halt. (looks to be the case on this account, you can see this info on the Saved Video page in Alarm.com and click “Upload Limit”)
Additional levels of Cloud video above the base level add the capability of an additional 4 cameras, as well as an additional 5000 clips/month.
It is good to use one add-on level if you plan to generate a lot of clips.
You can request to upgrade video service by emailing customerservice@suretyDIY.com. You can see info on the service plan add-ons and details here.
Thanks!
Makes sense now.
