I installed a VDB750 yesterday. Everything seems to be working fine, except that when the doorbell rings, and the (IQ2) panel asks if I want to answer, and I press “yes”, it takes a long time for the Panel and doorbell to connect (5-10 seconds). I don’t experience this delay when connecting to the doorbell with a mobile device, so I don’t think it’s related to Wifi connectivity (I have about 75% signal strength).
I updated the panel firmware to the latest, but that didn’t seem to help. Any suggestions? Or maybe this is normal?
I am talking with alarm.com currently, they are asking if you could test the doorbell again by pressing the doorbell and answering on the keypad and seeing if it loads faster
Can you test your internet speed (both upload and download speed) at the panel and the doorbell and let us know what they both are?
Your Wi-Fi and internet look solid. I’ll ask around a bit to try to find out what delay would be considered normal for your your doorbell and panel to connect. Could we check a few more things?
Your doorbell is on a 5GHz Wi-Fi network. Is your IQ Panel on the same 5GHz Wi-Fi network? (same SSID and frequency) It’s best if they’re on the same Wi-Fi network.
Is there a similar delay when you just view the view on your IQ Panel? As in not when the doorbell rings but just viewing it on the panel’s video page?
Is there a similar delay when you answer the doorbell in the Alarm.com app instead of on the IQ Panel?
What happens if you uncheck the Speed up remote connection initiation setting? And/or if you reduce the Image Resolution?
