I definitely have a strange question here and not sure if the suretyDiy has ever tried to see if this will work. Basically I’m looking to have two Liftmaster/Chamberlain Gateways connected to the same garage door opener. My reasoning for this is that since Alarm.com’s integration locks you in to only using alarm.com, I’m hoping to have another for some other integration - such as integrating with my HomeSeer system.
Just curious if anyone has tried this. I may just go out there any buy one locally and return if it doesn’t work for me.
This is certainly not something we’ve tried, but I do like challenging questions!
Not having tried it, I cannot say for certain if this will work. If you are using a Wifi universal hub and door tilt sensor (821LM) then I would think it should work, as the hub is just being learned into the opener as a controlling fob. That’s a lot of duplicate equipment though.
If you have the 828LM or equivalent, I would question it more, as there may be two-way status and linking there. We will try to confirm with Liftmaster/Chamberlain and report back.
