Upgrading from IQ Panel 2+ to IQ Panel 5 – Can I reuse the QS-SRF345 daughter card?

I’m upgrading from a Qolsys IQ Panel 2+ to an IQ Panel 5 and have a question about the 345 MHz daughter card.

My IQ Panel 2+ has the older QS-SRF345 card installed. From what I can tell, it looks almost identical to the newer QC0005-840 IQ Card-345, except for one difference:

The older QS-SRF345 has a metal bracket attached to the antenna cable. On the IQ Panel 2+, there is a threaded mounting point where this bracket screws into the chassis/board. However, on the IQ Panel 5, I don’t see any mounting point for that bracket.

The IQ Panel 5 has the EXT1 expansion slot, and the card appears to plug into it, but I don’t know what to do with the antenna bracket since there’s nowhere to secure it.
My questions are:

Has anyone successfully reused the QS-SRF345 from an IQ Panel 2+ in an IQ Panel 5?

Can the metal bracket simply be removed, or does it serve another purpose besides holding the antenna?

Is the QS-SRF345 fully compatible with the IQ Panel 5, or is the QC0005-840 required?

If you reused the older card, how did you mount or route the antenna?

I’d rather reuse the existing card if it’s supported, but I also don’t want to compromise RF performance or damage the panel.

Thank you

Qolsys representatives state that the IQ Panel 2 SRF radio is not compatible with the IQ Panel 5. The QC0005-840 345Mhz IQ Card is recommended.

The older SRF cards have that bracket with antenna attached and there is nowhere in the EXT1 slot on the IQ Panel 5 for it to go but I believe the pin layout is the same.

Whenever you remove or install the SRF radio, make sure the panel is fully powered off before doing so. Otherwise you can damage the card/panel.
