Upgrade from 2GIG Panel to IQ Panel

I currently have a 2GIG panel and compatible sensors. Is it possible to upgrade to the IQ panels and reuse the existing 2GIG compatible sensors?

With the 345Mhz version of the IQ Panel 4, yes you can reuse existing 2GIG sensors. It won’t work with the newer encrypted E-series sensors, but if you have regular 2GIG 345 sensors you can get this 345Mhz version of the IQ Panel 4.

Thanks Jason. Will this panel also support PowerG sensors simultaneously so we can migrate to new sensors over time?

Yes, it has both a 345Mhz and PowerG radio and you can mix and match sensors as needed.

I was able to get the new panels installed today and all of the sensors added except for the 2Gig door bells. Just wanted to confirm they are not compatible?

While not on the compatibility list, it is a standard 345Mhz sensor and should be able to be paired as a no response type door. (Sensor Group 25) This can be used for notifications and chimes.

I’m about to do the same thing,

Can I add the current sensors to the new panel while they are still being used with the 2gig panel prior to fully swapping panels?

Just so If I run into any issues I still have my 2gig usable?

Can I add the current sensors to the new panel while they are still being used with the 2gig panel prior to fully swapping panels?

Yes. 345MHz RF sensors do not need to be removed from one panel in order to be paired with another. Keep in mind that if both panels are powered on, and one of those sensors is triggered, it will trigger at both panels. You would only want one panel connected to service if doing this.

Thank you.

I won’t use both panels at the same time. Just want to make sure everything moves over and then I’ll kill the 2gig and swap service when I’m ready.

Thanks for the information.

When ready to swap from the 2GIG panel to the Qolsys panel, you will need the new panel’s 15-digit IMEI number. You can swap the panels at any time via the System Manager tab of your Surety login.

IMEI is found on the back of the panel, on the box it comes in, and in programming (Settings > Advanced Settings > About > Cellular).
