I’m trying to update my firmware to 3.1.2 over a USB drive. When I insert the drive, it detects the firmware and then tries to do the update. It seems like it completes, reboots, and the system comes back up. But when I go to system info it still shows my firmware as 3.0.0. Can I go straight from 3.0.0 to 3.1.2? Or do I need to do each and every version of the firmware in order?
Happy to help! In order to update the 2GIG GC3 panel to firmware version 3.1.2, the panel will need to be, at minimum, version 3.0.2 first. Once updated to 3.0.2, you can jump straight to 3.1.2.
Do I need to do 3.0.1 and then 3.0.2 and then 3.1.2? Or can I go from 3.0.0 straight to 3.0.2?
You should be fine going from launch firmware (3.0.0) to 3.0.2 directly.
Just as an FYI, I wasn’t able to go from 3.0.2 to 3.1.2. I had to from 3.0.2 to 3.1.0, and then from 3.1.0 to 3.1.2.
Interesting, we’ll test and mention this to 2GIG. They may have a typo in their instructions then.
