Unable to link Alexa skill to Alarm.com

Hello Support,

On Wednesday our Alexa to Alarm.com stopped working, I have tried over the last couple days to get them relinked but am always met with an error of “Unable to link the skill at this time, Please try again later.”

The issue seems tied to the 2FA, it does pop up and takes the code but then the link up fails.

I did create a separate user login for allowing disarming via Alexa, it also fails as it did above. Is it possible to turn off the 2FA on the new user I created so I can test and see that allows the skill to link?

We can add a 2FA exemption to the login, but you may be required to log in with the primary user to link the Alexa skill. If you like us to add it, please send us a private message with the login name.

Are you trying to link the skill in the Alexa app? If so, could you try doing so in a web browser to see if there’s any change in behavior?

Sorry for the delayed response, yes I am trying to relink the Alexa Skill to allow for voice disarm. I have tried numerous times to relink but get a cannot link try again later error. I have also tried different devices IE phone and tablet. As for setting up via the web I find no way to do so anymore it seems skills are no longer available on the web. I will send a PM so I can try linking without 2FA if it doesn’t work I will remove the login.

Alarm.com mentioned they have reported a rise in troubles with the Alexa skills integration from several dealers. They are looking into it and are trying to find a solution.

I would say wait till around mid next week and if it still is not working, let us know and we will try to get an update for you
