Unable to clear alert

on 10/1 my smoke detector reported a low battery. I changed the battery and acknowledged the warning on the keypad. now every other day my panel beeps and shows a yellow triangle warning me of low batteries. The weird thing is that the actual time of the event stays the same (10/1), and it will even tell me the last time i acknowledged the event (10/4).

I made sure the batteries are in right and it seems like the devices is still listed and working fine in my panel. I saw another user had a similar problem and you guys were able to clear the alert from your side. Any chance you can check my panel out? also when you are in there can you reset or erase the installer code? thx

if you need i can upload pictures when i get home…

We cannot get rid of an alert that is on the panel, only if the alert is gone locally and still shows in Alarm.com.

What model of smoke detector are you using?

If you remove the detector from its base, does it cause a tamper alert at the panel?

If it does not, double check the battery polarity and make sure to only use new batteries.

If it does, then you’ll want to remove the batteries from the device and leave the batteries out for a full minute. Then re-insert the batteries and tamper the device. Does that resolve the low battery?

We would be happy to default the panel code for you, however if this was an existing 2GIG panel when you signed up for service it would have already been defaulted and programming opened upon connecting to our service. Try the default code of 1561 to access the installer toolbox.

If that does not work or if you have already changed this code but need it reset again please confirm and we would be happy to default it for you.

OK.installer code is good to go.

sorry for the delay in response. Its just that prior to asking for help multiple times i thought I had the problem solved only to have it reappear a day and a half later.

this time problems is solved.
Batteries were new and installed correctly (i know you have to ask).
Tamper alarms never triggered even after multiple removals from base.
I left the batteries out for ~5 minutes.

Now, i’m not sure if it was the battery trick that did it. I was reviewing some of the installer menus (thx for the new code) and the panel rebooted.

in the end it was the either leaving th batteries out or rebooting the panel (which i didn’t even mean to do)>

It is possible to replace the batteries before power has fully discharged from the sensor in some cases. The sensor needs to power down fully to restore the status. Leaving them out for 45 - 60 seconds should resolve that if it ever happens.

thanks gain, just in case its helpful for you or anyone else in the future, the model number is 2GIG-SMKT2-354
