Trouble adding motion sensor

I’m setting up a new property today and I have been able to set up the panel, 4 D/W sensors, and 2 motion sensors. I am having difficulty getting a 3rd motion sensor to work properly.

I use autolearn to add the motion sensor and it seems to detect the sensor and allow me to add it to the system. However, the sensor never registers motion.

When viewing the sensor via the website Home→Sensors it always says “Device state unknown” for that sensor. When viewing in the mobile app More→Manage Devices it shows a broken link icon next to the sensor. When viewing on the IQ Panel 5 home page→All it always shows the idle person icon next to the sensor.

I thought maybe it was a defective sensor, so I tried another identical motion sensor, and when that had the same behavior, I tried even another. All 3 behave the same way. Yet the 2 that I set up previously are working fine.

All of the sensors are IQ Motion-S QS1231-840. All are shown in the panel settings as type Motion and group 17.

If you want to take a look, I have 3 properties with Surety. It’s the system ending in 423. Device 7 Family Room Motion.

Let’s try deleting that sensor from programming, then reboot the system. This is under Settings > Advanced Settings > Reboot Panel.

After it powers back up, try learning in that motion detector again. After learning it in, tamper that detector by opening the back of it to access the battery tray.

Does the panel report a tamper? Is there a change in behavior and the panel starts reporting the status?

I had tried those steps before but didn’t think to reboot the panel in-between.

It does report the tamper (which it always did before as well), but it’s still not activating motion in the panel. It is always in the idle state.

I just walked back and forth several times past both of these. Only the middle bedroom actually shows a change in state.

Can you send me a PM with a photo of the Family Room Motion’s ID label? It will be a 6 digit hexadecimal value on a sticker.
