I’m looking at the GC3 Sensor Transmission Delay option and wondering how this works in relation to crash and smash protection. Does enabling Transmission Delay negatively affect crash and smash protection? The install guide mentions a default 30 second delay if enabled to prevent false alarms. What happens if I disable this feature?
Information regarding Transmission Delay (Dialer Delay) is discussed here.
We typically discourage using transmission delay unless you have a sensor that you are worried about frequent false alarms. However, it does not impact crash and smash as the initial signal is still sent to ADC, just as a pending alarm. For entry sensors, it does not delay the Entry Delay sensor triggering the countdown to send a signal to ADC, so crash and smash works as normal in that case.
Great. That makes sense. Thanks.
