Transferring IQ Panel 4 to Surety

I moved into a house with a Guardian system already installed. I was able to get the cameras switched to Surety, and can access them on my phone, but I can not use the IQ Panel 4 since it is linked to Guardian. Is there a way to unlock it from them to use with Surety?

Cameras can be deleted from an Alarm.com account by the user, but the alarm panel IMEI is registered by the service provider. Alarm.com compatible panels can only be linked to one account at a time. Only the current provider can cancel the existing account, freeing it up for activation on another account.

For a new home, I would recommend reaching out to your realtor to help facilitate communication with the original owner and get the existing Alarm.com account cancelled.

You can check the status of the IMEI for your panel at any time here to see if it is still registered.

So it says that it can be activated. How do I go about linking it to my account?

If you already have an active video-only Cam plan you would just need to switch your plan in the system manager here.

Login to the system manager and select a plan that supports both Cam video features and alarm panels, those would be Protect or Complete. You will be asked to enter the IMEI of your panel when you submit the change.

Protect is the equivalent of Cam + Alarm. Complete is the equivalent of Cam + Home, which includes automation device support.
