Can I transfer my current alarm.com account from Brinks to Surety?
Brinks won’t allow it but u can do is put a request to cancel and then request the IMEI to be released and u can activate with surety
We support Alarm.com account transfers, but for it to work, both Alarm.com service providers must support it.
More information on transferring your account can be found here.
Not all service providers support account transfers, you will want to find out from your current service provider if they will support it. If they do, follow the steps in the previous link.
Transferring will allow you to keep your current Alarm.com account settings (rules, scenes, notifications, etc.). This will also allow you to continue using a 3G Verizon module if that is installed in your panel for the time being. If you have a 3G AT&T module, they are no longer supported for transfer as 3G modules on the AT&T network will cease to function on 2/22/2022
If transfer is not possible, then signing up for service through Surety would result in a new Alarm.com account. Due to the impending 3G sunset, as of June 2019, Alarm.com will no longer allow new accounts to be created using a 3G module, going forward only 4G LTE modules can be used to set up new accounts.
Do you know what kind of module you have?
If it is 3G, a new module would need to be obtained. If you currently have a 4G LTE module, you would need your current service provider to un-register the module (typically done during the account cancellation process).
When transfer is not possible, you can purchase a new service plan to get started. Plan pricing and features can be found here. As service is offered on a month to month basis, plans can be changed at any time. Once the module is unregistered, it takes about 5 minutes to go from plan purchase to creating the new Alarm.com account, account setup is done through the Surety website.
