The Date & Time function on the IQ Panel 5 shows three items: (1) Local Date Time checkbox (enabled or disabled), (2) Set Date, (3) Set Time. There is no information on this menu item in the manual. What does the checkbox do? Does that enable/disable syncing to Alarm.com system time? How should that be set to sync to system time? I assume the other two are to override “automatic” setting of time and date.
Alarm.com automatically sets the correct date and time on the panel based on the service address on file. I haven’t been able to confirm whether the local date time setting is being used, but it looks like it’s disabled by default, and should be left that way if associated with an Alarm.com account.
It’s confusing because the option is ambiguously labeled “Local Date Time” – does that mean “time is set locally by user” or “local time is sent by alarm.com”? The options to change time and date are not gratyed out regardless of whether the Local Date Time box is checked or not.
Local Date Time is a checkbox allowing the installer to set the time locally and not have it replaced by the back-end connection. I don’t recommend doing that.
You can set a time and date whether it is checked or not, but if that checkbox is unchecked, any subsequent time info sent from ADC would replace it.
Generally speaking this should be left default (unchecked) so your time can be synced with ADC.
