I’m about to migrate my alarm.com based ADT system to surety with a new iq4 panel. What should I un-register from ADT before making the switch?
From what I’ve seen both cameras and myq garage door openers need to be un-registered with your previous ADC provider or you might have issues adding them to your new one. Is there anything else besides that?
If you are bringing over a Qolsys panel it would need to be unregistered as well. The panels link to an account via their IMEI, and it can only be linked to one ADC account at a time. In general, when your provider cancels the current Alarm.com account it is tied to, all the components are unregistered as the account no longer exists.
If you have scheduled cancellation, you should be able to reach out to your dealer to determine when the Alarm.com account will be terminated. Sometimes this will occur after the completion of a billing period or an arbitrary delay, depending on the provider.
Cameras and MyQ garage can only be linked to one account at a time as well, that’s correct. They would be unregistered upon cancellation but you may need to factory reset the MyQ gateway. In some cases it does not get its on board data fully cleared.
