Text (SMS) Notifications from ADC

Folks, recent change and wondering if it is good/bad/permanent? My ADC account is setup with notifications sent via SMS. In the past, the sender has been "alarm.com@suretycam.com". Starting yesterday, the text messages are coming from an all numeric sender “XXXXXXXXXX”. Not any big issue, just wondering what changed or if I need to make an adjustment.

You shouldn’t need to do anything. This is expected.

From ADC:

As of Monday, March 14th customers using Verizon cell phone service are able to receive system notifications faster and more reliably via text than before. We have been working with Verizon to improve speed and deliverability, and now have the ability to send text messages through a direct connection to Verizon’s SMS Center.
In order to use this direct connection, all SMS notifications to customers with Verizon cell phone service need to come from a different address than they have in the past. These text notifications are sent from ‘removed,’ similar to the notifications received by AT&T and T-Mobile customers.

Thanks Jason. Where did this get announced? I just looked around for it to forward to some friends.

Just an operational notice for dealers.

You shouldn’t notice any difference other than possibly quicker notifications.

Any idea on any Project Fi support?

At this time, there is no support for Project Fi nor is there an ETA for any such implementation.

I too noticed this and wondered if the system had been hacked.

Seems like something that should have been shared with all end users that by definition are security conscience.
