I figured I’d ask this as a forum question to get people’s opinion.
I’m debating between the two thermostats, T2000 vs T40K.
Which one did you choose and why?
Is there anything obvious I’m missing?
Is there anything new coming out that I should wait for?
I understand most of the functional differences between the two, so I believe both would work in my situation. It seems that T2000 is more limited local control, but the T40K has a larger color screen, don’t think I want another screen in my house.
Since I’m going the semi-automation route for my house, I believe both would work, specifically I want to control the schedules, away time and the humidifier.
I would generally recommend the T40K as the newer device and for the extra local controls/flexibility on the Tstat. The T2000 is more dependent on the panel and Alarm.com for settings and scheduling, but it is a solid Tstat.
One thing to keep in mind with installation is that the T40K requires a C wire, it runs only on 24VAC, it cannot run on batteries like the T2000. If you have a C wire then either would work.
just a logistical question…any idea when the thermostat remote temp sensor will be available? I just want to track temp in my basement.
Thank you again
