Switching from Frontpoint 3.0

Hi;
I’m currently with Frontpoint but fed up with their retro hub. I have two questions about switching to surety:

  1. Concerning the Qolsys 2+ panel: we have terrible cellular connection at our house. We have a Verizon extender that gives us LTE all around the house, but that sort of defeats the purpose of dual path communication because it relies on internet to give us LTE. I’m not sure what cellular provider the current Frontpoint hub uses (its the most recent Frontpoint hub). I don’t know much about ATT coverage here, but I doubt it’s any good. What options do we have?

  2. I have a Yale z-wave lock, as well as a few cameras. I’m having a hard time finding the different plans Surety offers. Is there an “ultimate” plan?

Thanks.

U would want the surety complete plan

Also who do you all have as a cellular phone carrier

Also lucky ur all ur sensors will work but only thing u will want to do when canceling service is delate the cameras out off the account with them first also make sure ur able to cancel and that ur not in any contract

We have Verizon; but without the extender we have no signal. Do the panels come in ATT and Verizon (are those the only two options?). Is there a panel that can connect to either deadening on which ones stronger?

I unfortunately do have a contract with Frontpoint; but at this point I might as well pay the cancellation fee. If I didn’t have a contract I would have switched over yesterday.

They do make 2 different versions AT&T and Verizon but they don’t make one that changes between the 2 have u check on AT&T website for there service map see if ur location is covered under AT&T

I know I use to have Frontpoint and the service was great but the hub is junk it a toy and very easy to disconnect which I didn’t releaize until I powered down my hub

Yeah I have checked. Both ATT and Verizon show that we have converage, but I guess we are in somewhat of a dead zone. Come to think of it I believe my car uses ATT. I’ll check the signal on that.

Does the qolsys need LTE to work, or is a couple of bars enough?

I think at least 3 bars but yeah if ur car uses att then the panel should work great

Also has the hub been running on cellular or is it been on WiFi as well

Hub has been running on both; but I have no idea what provider Frontpoint uses. Many thanks for all the help!

Frontpoint uses alarm.com just like surety and several other providers out there but I will say u will be very happy with the service u receive with us a surety I been very happy with them so far also been there to help I recently started looking at another providers but don’t get the service u get with surety at low cost other company’s charge u more for services that surety so it kept me staying with surety and I have had them for about I think 6 months now

Just to confirm, there are only the two cellular providers for the US market. AT&T and Verizon. The panel model determines which is supported. If you know you have significant trouble with one of them, I would consider the other for the location if both are supposed to have coverage.

Do you happen to have a metal roof?

A description of the various plans are found on our plans page linked below. Charlie’s right you would be looking for the Complete plan given your description.

Two bars is usually sufficient for communication.

Thanks Jason.

Are there any extra “add-ons” to the complete plan or does it include all features?

Thank you

Optional add-ons are available for all plans and are listed on the plans page I linked along with price. These are often expanded support options, like increasing camera capacity etc.

Thanks again. And finally, can you confirm that you have both the Verizon and the ATT panel available?

Yes, the bundles we sell include the Verizon version by default (typically wider coverage), but AT&T is available on request. It is the same price. Just let us know in the order notes you would prefer AT&T or send a private message to let us know when ordering.
