Alarm.com runs the Serious Security Awards to celebrate the most impressive security and smart-home installations across its dealer network. This year, we’re extending the spotlight to the people who build some of the coolest systems we ever see: you, our customers.
Here’s the thing about DIYers: nobody cares more about an installation than the person who lives or works behind it. Our customers consistently put together the most creative, thorough, and genuinely interesting setups precisely because you’re hands-on and personally invested in getting it right. You sweat the wire runs, obsess over sensor placement, and dream up automations no professional installer would ever think to try. We want to see all of it.
So show us what you’ve built. We’ll pass the best Surety entries along to Alarm.com’s judging. The Serious Security Awards is an Alarm.com-wide contest open across their entire dealer network. Any Surety customer whose entry Alarm.com selects as a winner will receive 2 years of free alarm monitoring (up to $35/month) from us.

The Prize
The Serious Security Awards is an Alarm.com-wide contest judged by Alarm.com across their full dealer network. If Alarm.com selects your entry as a winner, Surety will give you 2 years of free alarm monitoring, up to $35/month (a value of up to $840). If your current plan exceeds $35/month, the credit applies up to that amount and you cover the difference.
Because the contest is open to installations from across Alarm.com’s network, selection is not guaranteed for a Surety entry. But our customers build some of the most impressive systems out there, so we like your odds.

How to Enter
Send a private message (PM) to Surety Support with your entry. Tell us the full story of your installation, and don’t be shy. The details are what make a great entry.
Please include:
- A brief project summary: what is this system, at a glance?
- The challenge or objective: what were you trying to solve or accomplish?
- The solution you built: the Alarm.com products, services, devices, and strategies you used, and how you designed and executed it
- Results and value: what the finished system delivers
- What makes it unique: any creative, clever, or unconventional elements that set it apart
- Project completion date
- Supporting photos: clear images of your installation (the more, the better)
- How you’d like to be credited: let us know whether you’d like your real name used or to remain anonymous
You may submit more than one installation, but please submit each one as a separate entry.
Terms & Conditions
By submitting an entry, you agree to the following:
Eligibility. Open to current Surety customers in good standing. You may only submit your own installation.
Installation requirements. Your installation must feature an Alarm.com product or solution as its focus, and must have been completed or launched between January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026. Each installation must be submitted separately.
Deadline. All entries must be received by June 28, 2026. Entries may, at sole discretion, be removed from consideration or disqualified if determined to be incomplete, submitted late, outside the eligibility period, or not sufficiently showcasing an Alarm.com-based installation.
Rights to your content. By submitting, you confirm that you own the content (photos, descriptions, video, and so on) or have legal permission to share it, and that sharing it does not violate anyone else’s rights. If your submission includes another person’s image or personal information, you confirm you have their permission to share it.
How we may use your submission. You grant Surety and Alarm.com permission to use your submitted materials, including descriptions, photos, video, and any testimonials, for purposes related to this contest, including evaluation, winner announcements, and promotion before and after winners are named. You also grant Surety and Alarm.com permission to use your materials for general marketing content such as success stories, case studies, blog posts, and promotional communications. This permission includes the right to revise, edit, and modify submitted content. You can choose whether your real name is used or whether you remain anonymous; just let us know in your entry.
No sensitive information. Please do not include sensitive personal information, account numbers, passwords, or anything you wouldn’t want shared. Surety is not responsible for confidential information submitted without proper approval.
Judging. All entries will be reviewed by a cross-functional Alarm.com evaluation committee using standard criteria as established by Alarm.com. Final decisions will be made by Alarm.com in its sole discretion.
Prize details. The Serious Security Awards is an Alarm.com-wide contest, and selection as a winner is determined solely by Alarm.com. There is no guarantee that any Surety entry will be selected. If Alarm.com selects your entry as a winner, Surety will provide up to 24 months of alarm monitoring credit, capped at $35/month. The credit cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. Standard Surety monitoring terms continue to apply during the credited period.
Changes or cancellation. Surety may update, pause, or cancel the contest at any time at its sole discretion. Any changes will be posted here or shared through customer communications.
Liability. To the extent allowed by law, Surety and Alarm.com are not responsible for any losses or damages related to participating in this contest.
Agreement. By submitting your entry, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions. Any violation may result in disqualification and revocation of any award.
