Stuck during panel setup

I am setting up a new system using IQ Panel 5. Following the install guide, I powered on the panel, then went into the system manager and created a new alarm.com account. I got to the point where I should be running the install wizard on the panel.

The panel was showing the install wizard with the start button but wouldn’t respond to any input. Pressing Start, trying to select the language, or pressing the hamburger menu did nothing.

I walked away to search the forum and start this message, and when I went back to the panel it now shows the screensaver image and has a dialog box in the lower-right corner that says “Needs attention” with a “View results” button. But again, the panel isn’t responding to any input. Pressing the view results button does nothing. Tapping the screen to make the screensaver go away does nothing.

I appear to be stuck and unable to proceed.

Try holding the physical power button on the right side of the panel until the system powers down.

Wait about 30 seconds, then press and hold the power button again for about 3 seconds to turn it back on. Any change?

That got me back to the install wizard, but again no response to any input.

OK, wait. Went through power down and boot up again and now I am getting input.

Circling back to this, have you been able to go through setup?

Yep, I’ve completed the panel setup and been able to add a thermostat and a couple of sensors so far. I’m good.
