Hello SuretyDIY!

If I’m traveling, Is there a way to:

  1. receive the storm warning on my cell
  2. reply to/disable the storm warning from my cell.

Severe weather alerts are sent to compatible panels of users in affected areas by zip code to allow reaction time to seek cover locally, they are not sent to phones.

Panel severe weather alerts must be cleared locally at the panel.

Compatible panels:

2GIG GoControl v 1.6 +
2GIG GC3
Qolsys IQ Panel
Qolsys IQ Panel 2
DSC Touch
DSC Impassa
DSC PowerSeries Neo
Interlogix Simon XT v 1.3 +

Instead consider using notifications related to the effect of inclement weather. These would not be reliant on tornado warnings, but any event resulting in power outage, flood/leaks (with compatible sensor), HVAC failure (with temp sensor), etc.

Are these alerts still happening? I had 4 alerts today on my phone but none on my 2Gig Panel… I checked alarm.com and the option is on in notifications…

Alarm.com sends severe weather alerts in 3 scenarios:

  1. Tornado Warnings
  2. Wildfire Warnings
  3. Tsunami Warnings

Severe thunderstorm warnings or Tornado watches are not sent.
