In order to integrate cameras with Alarm.com service, you would need Alarm.com compatible cameras.
Do you happen to know your current camera’s resolution? What’s the model # on the camera? It’s blurred in the pic. I could give you recommendations based on that information.
not finding much related to that part number. What features do you have through Alert360? There is likely something equivalent to the features you are using. Do you have any specifics that you are looking for?
You can find out more about Alarm.com video services here:
If they’re 1080p analog cameras that’s not bad. If you want to use them in Alarm.com you would need an Alarm.com ADC-VS123 HD Video Server for each camera. They’re a little over $100 each. That’s not cheap but it’s cheaper than replacing all the cameras.
That would only get you live viewing and cloud recording (video clips) in Alarm.com. If you wanted 24/7 local recording you would also need an SVR (ADC-SVR210).
I think that would give you the best experience. It’s a good video solution and is well-integrated with the alarm system. It’s just a question of whether you want to spend the money when your existing DVR already works.
Come to think of it, the ADC-VS123 has both a video in and a video out so you could feed the video out back into your existing DVR and use that instead of the Alarm.com SVR. It wouldn’t be as well integrated but it could record 24/7.
I must be looking at different pictures of products. I don’t see that many ports on the back of the 210
So… I’ll need a switch with at least 8 ports? Or a different SVR?
