Malfunction (Smoke Detector Downstairs) indicates that this sensor is unable to send signals to your security panel and may not trigger an alarm or signal for help in an emergency.
How do I fix this?
Run through the steps above for troubleshooting Offline malfunctions.
On a Smoke Detector, there are a few extra possibilities. They will generally cause a supervision offline malfunction when:
- They are dirty
- The sensor has an internal fault
- The sensor is expired.
If 1 or 2 are true, the detector itself would be beeping. If it is #3, it must be replaced.
