I used to only have one smart lock and it worked with no issues. I tried installing a second lock and it was unable to connect successfully. I tried a few times and have multiple failed locks now on my account, and my original lock is not working either.
I am unable to delete any of these failed locks from my account. I have reached out online to surety who tried to remotely remove, and that also did not work.
Please send more detailed instructions of what I am supposed to do in order for my locks to function properly. THank you!
It looks like this is an IQ Panel 4, correct? If multiple nodes end up on the panel for a single device it indicates trouble with the inclusion process and usually has to be deleted locally.
The first step I would recommend is a reboot of the panel. (Settings > Advanced Settings > Reboot Panel.)
Then to perform the clear steps on a Z-wave device, on the panel screen the steps are:
- Navigate to the Settings Tray and tap Settings
- Tap Advanced Settings
- Enter your Installer Code
- Tap Installation
- Then Devices
- Z-Wave Devices
- Clear Device.
- While the panel is listening, utilize the Z-Wave devices add/remove feature (see device manual)
Your panel should indicate that a device has been cleared, you may need to bring the lock within 6-10 feet of the panel to complete this successfully.
Locks are battery powered and typically need assistance from repeating nodes for daily communication. During pairing, they must be within close proximity of the panel, which means that the panel must be brought to the locks or the lock must be brought to the panel. This is often skipped and can result in failed inclusion.
How far is the second lock from the panel?
