I recently bought an IQ Hub 4 hoping to use it with a zigbee daughter card. The Qolsys page for this card states that it can be installed in “Slot 2 of your IQ Panel 4, IQ4 Hub…”
However while the circuit board of the IQ4 Hub does have slot 2 marked, there does not seem to be any existing connector wired up to it, only slot 1 (unused) and slot 3 (occupied by 319.5 SRF card) have the pin headers.
What are my options here? Does there exist any variant of the IQ Hub 4 that supports slot 2 daughter cards, or is my best option to return it and get the IQ Panel 4 instead?
It’s not an issue of simultaneous support though, slot 2 is physically unavailable in the IQ4 Hub, so there is no possibility of installing the zigbee module altogether even without any other radio card installed (since it seems that the module can only be installed in the second slot).
The IQ4 Hub manual clearly specifies zigbee support, which is why I’m confused.
Thank you, using Slot 3 gets it recognized! The zigbee card fails self-test though (shows “FAILED” in the daughter card test). It’s not clear if this is due to my zigbee card being defective or whether it’s an artifact of using it in slot 3.
While the Zigbee Card is meant for slot 2, through testing I have confirmed you can place it in Slot 3 and it will pass the daughter card test. I have also learned in a Zigbee security sensor into the panel successfully.
I have reached out to Qolsys regarding the absence of a Slot 2 on the IQ 4 Hub as well as the potential misinformation listed on their zigbee card page.
I will update here if additional information becomes available.
It appears the IQ Zigbee card page on Qolsys’ website displays incorrect information as the IQ 4 Hub does not have a Slot 2. Qolsys states that on the IQ 4 Hub, the Zigbee card will only work in Slot 3.
