Has anyone tried the Skybell wedge kit to adjust the angle? It says it’s for the Skybell 2.0 with no mention of the HD. I can’t find any info as to whether or not the mount should be the same between the various versions. I’ve sent them an email and haven’t heard back yet, but curious if anyone tried it.
Hopefully my image attached correctly (please ignore my wife’s dead plant). Are others seeing this amount of fish-eye offset on their image? Obviously with ~180* viewing angle I would expect some rounding on the corners, but the fact that mine is offset makes me wonder if perhaps by camera internals were knocked around. I’m losing a decent portion of my image to the camera housing seems like.
It does look like more of the housing is getting in the way of the image itself. Would it be possible to get a picture of the installation itself?
Sure, I’ll post an installation photo this evening. It was just a straight forward replacement of my 2GIG doorbell.
The wedge may indeed help with the angle of the image as well.
That was my initial thought with the wedge as well, but since I installed and tested when it was dark out the other night, I didn’t realize part of the image was actually getting cut off. I’d prefer to identify whether or not others see it as “normal” before I try to compensate for it.
The front plate could be slightly askew or maybe an uneven mounting surface. Even the rubber grommet could be misaligned. Try to get a close up of the lens itself as well if you could.

Installation photos attached. In looking at the close up photo, it does seem as though the lens is aligned slightly towards the right side of the picture and the rubber grommet appears to bulge out slightly more on that side. Explains the viewing cut off in the original post. You can see a bit of the grommet bulge in the side view as well.
It does not feel like it is anything that wants to “pop” back into place but I also didn’t want to manhandle it and risk damaging something. I assume this would be covered by the standard return/exchange policy?
Actually the rubber insert does look like it is protruding. You may be able to push it back gently with a small flat head screwdriver.
However this is a fixed lens device so if the lens is tilted (which it appears to possibly be) that would account for the obstruction. Our warranty and returns policy can be found here.

Gentle is not one of my strong suits. With my luck I’d end up gouging the lens or housing adding small tools into the mix. The lens does seem offset to one side slightly and the rubber did not want to push in on that side when using my finger.
I just placed an order for a replacement and will RMA this one when the new one arrives. Hopefully just a minor one-off issue. I’ll update this thread with a comparison photo when it’s installed.
New Skybell did the trick. Comparison photo attached for those interested. I’ll probably still pursue the wedge kit just to adjust the angle of the motion detection towards the porch entry a little more, but at least I get full picture now.
Messed with the rubber grommet on the old one a little and it does not want to sit flush. I’ve got it boxed up and ready to send back. I downloaded the RMA form - do I need any kind of a pre-approved RMA number? Also, I deleted the first Skybell from my account. Any further steps to take before returning?
I noticed that I have a similar black edge on my Skybell image also. Is that considered a defect? If I didn’t purchase from you is there a way to contact ADC directly for warranty?

If your image looks like the one in my first post, I would say yes, since I ordered a second that did not have that issue. As for a warranty claim, couldn’t tell you. Perhaps you’re in a return window with the company you purchased it from.
You could try as Jason and Tyler suggest by trying to re-seat the rubber grommet, but since mine was only a few days old I chose to replace it.
You’ll notice a little bit of the frame edge, but it shouldn’t be quite as prominent as in the original post. The lens is not user adjustable, so this would be a defect.

For any sort of warranty replacement you would need to communicate with the vendor whether or not it would be covered.
