Purchased the Skybell HD. Please advise how to add to system.
SkyBell HD requires the Alarm.com Video add on as well as Doorbell Cameras enabled on Alarm.com. So you are good to go as far as being enabled on the back end.
As for installing the system itself you will want to ensure that you have a good wi-fi signal at the installation site. Connect to your home’s wifi with your mobile device and run a speed test to ensure good signal. You could use a speed test app or go to speedtest.net. Be sure you are connected to the home’s 2.4Ghz band for this test. The Skybell HD also requires a 1.5Mbps upload speed at the installation site.
Do you need help physically installing the device or are you having troubles syncing the device to your account?
You will need to use the Alarm.com app to install the device. The Skybell HD is installed by navigating to the Doorbell Cameras Tab. Doorbell Cameras Tab > Settings Gear > Add a Doorbell Camera
You can also check out the site alarm.com has set up for the doorbell. http://doorbell.academy-alarm.com/
Yes! the site is nice and easy to follow. Hoping to see more stuff like that from them in the future.
I have read everything on the doorbell camera setup/install and it says I need to use the alarm.com app and its doorbell camera section. I have logged out of the app twice and there is no doorbell camera section. I do have a video section now. Something must be incorrect with my account? The alarm.com website also does not show anything about a doorbell camera.
The website won’t show doorbell camera info unless one is added to the account. Doorbell Cam access is currently enabled on your account.
Can you check to make sure your app is updated to the most recent version? Doorbell Cameras will be a section under the menu accessed at the top right of the app page.
The issue was the version of android on my old phone. I was able to use a nexus 7 instead and the alarm.com app is much different with it. For future reference the app requires android 4.4 or higher for the doorbell feature.
This wouldn’t have been an issue if alarm.com updated their windows mobile app. Anyone know of any plans to do so? I would think a windows uwp app would be great since it would work on both windows tablets and phones. Especially for a doorbell camera having the app running on my surface pro 3 that I use all day long would be very beneficial.
As this is an integration with Skybell, the Windows app issue may be a bit more complicated. I don’t think Skybell themselves offer a windows mobile app, nor a desktop version at the moment. We can look into this though, certainly!
