Setting up 2GIG system for first time--Armed, Can't Disarm

I am setting up a new system using GC2.
–Updated to latest firmware
–Purchased a cell module from Surety and installed. Used 2203 Vivint installer code. Time on panel was current, which I assume means cell module was connected, and cell signal was strong. Unplugged power to panel.
–Started up service with alarm.com through Surety and got the welcome email about running the cell test.
–Here’s the problem. When I plugged in the battery pack and panel to do the cell test and finish setting up my system, now it is Armed-Away. I have no idea what code to use to disarm. 2203 and 1561 don’t work.

Help!

Have you used the panel prior to this or is it completely new to you? If new and hadn’t been powered up yet that means it was powered down in an armed state.

The installer code cannot arm/disarm. You would need the master code or other user code.

The default is 1111, and you can set those when logged into Alarm.com on the users page if your panel has connected. If it hasn’t connected due to not being able to run cell test, you might try a factory reset.

Typically with that provider resets are locked out but it is worth a try. Power down the panel, hold the two face buttons, and power up (don’t need battery). Keep holding the buttons for 60 seconds, then release. Upon power up, try 1111.

Thanks so much for the reply. This panel is new to me but purchased used. The crazy thing is that it was NOT armed when I first powered it on and installed the cell module. I guess I accidentally armed it, but I really don’t know how, and any code I was using before is not working to disarm now!! I am so confused. Do I have any options if the reset doesn’t work?

A reset will not work on a vivint panel, as they by default lockout Q45. In any event, you do not need to reset as your problem is fairly easy to resolve.

Just to make sure we are on the same page, your issue is that-

your Vivint panel when powered up is already armed, and you do not know the user/master user code to disarm
Correct?

All vivint panels use the same user 8 code, you can use that to disarm, and then use the installer code (2203) to access and view all user codes, which will allow you to see and then login as the master user.

First, remove the cellular module from panel.

Power it up, and disarm with 2580

then, once panel is disarmed, you need to access and change master user code/delete all other codes(you should also change the user 8 code so it is not 2580).

Once you access the Master user code, you will need to re-arm and disarm the panel to clear any existing alarm events prior to powering down, and reinstalling the cellular module for takeover and panel re-provisioning.

To view/access the master user code on a disarmed vivint GoControl panel using 2203:

note- you can simply click on the master user code and change the pin code and delete other users also using installer code.

All vivint panels use the same user 8 code
Power it up, and disarm with 2580

That’s a user-changeable code (duress code), but if it was never changed, there you go. Clever.
