Sensor notification without alarm?

With a GC3/Alarm.com system, is it possible to set up a notification to my phone anytime a specific sensor is tripped and do so without setting off an alarm? For instance, I’d like to put a sensor on a back gate that will notify me whenever it is opened by my landscaper or the pool guy regardless of whether the alarm is armed or not. Thanks!

Yes, you can do this by programming the sensor as type (23) No Response Type.

Sensors programmed as no response can be used for sensor activity notification triggers in Alarm.com and can chime at the panel, but they will never set off an alarm regardless of arming state.

So for example, on a DW10:

  • Sensor Type: 23 - No Response
  • Equipment Type: Contact
  • Equipment Code: (0862) 2GIG Thin Door/Window Contact
  • Serial Number: Learn - Trip Sensor
  • Equipment Age: New
  • Sensor Loop: 2
  • Transmission Delay: Disabled
  • Voice Descriptor: As Desired
  • Sensor Reports: Enabled
  • Sensor Supervised: Enabled
  • Sensor Chime: As desired

Keep in mind for an outdoor location you cannot use a DW10 however. You would want to use an outdoor sensor like the Honeywell 5816OD or the new 2GIG-DW30-345.

Works perfectly. Thanks!
