As I transition my toddler from a crib to a bed, I want to add a sensor to his door so that I know if he gets up and wanders at night. I want the sensor to alert my phone, but not set off any alarm or report to monitoring station, regardless of armed status of the alarm. If I get a regular door sensor, what group should I put it in when registering with panel?

Just add a regular door sensor and set sensor group to 25 safety I think it what is called it will chime anytime the door is open reguardless if the alarm is armed or not and u can set up alerts on Website to alert u if it opens too

The other user here is correct, you can use Sensor Group 25.
That group will never result in an alarm, but you can use it for notifications through Alarm.com whenever it is opened during specific times.
Is there a way to set this alert notification as a critical alert on my phone to break through when I have do not disturb set? I use that when I sleep, but would still want that notification to come through, and I know alarm.com supports critical alerts on iphone.
No, enabling critical alerts on iOS would mean that certain notification types such as alarm signals, jamming detection, panics, fire, CO, etc., would result in critical alerts. You cannot add notifications to that list manually.
