The Video option is now showing on the Alarm.com websight, but I ran into a snag. The the cameras I was looking to use were given to me from a person who no longer has an Alarm.com system. What are my options? I could probably have him verify that they are no longer being used with his old Vivint system.
Unfortunately if the cameras are still registered to an account they could not be reused. Alarm.com cannot remove them from another dealer’s account. The user with access to the account would need to login and delete those cameras as they can only be registered to one account at a time.
We do see this from time to time with the dealer you mention, as the equipment is typically left registered.
I spoke to the previous owner of the cameras and he said he’ll try and delete them for me. What exactly do I get with the Level 1 Cloud Video? All I really want is to live view 2 or 3 of them from the app. Does it store 24/7 Video for a period of time? Or does it do some other kind of limited recording based on rules or alarm status?
Level 1 video supports up to 4 cameras, unlimited live streaming is included. It provides 1000 clips storage and 1000 clips/month upload.
It does not record 24/7, for 24/7 recording through the cloud cameras, an Alarm.com SVR is needed.
Clips are event based and camera based. You can trigger clips by the camera Video Motion Detection, from alarm activity, from sensor activity, from I/O triggers on compatible models.
