Resurrecting a Honeywell Vista 20P and 6160 keypad

Hello…!

I recently purchased a house that came with a deactivated ADT Honeywell alarm system that I am trying to reactivate and connect to alarm.com.

I do not know the prior owners installer or master codes, and have tried the default codes (4112 and 1234, respectively) and they did not work. I also tried powering down and using the backdoor method, but they did not work.

So I am looking for what I should try next? There are two keypads and they both say “Disarmed Ready to Arm” and that’s it. Help!

Also, I have ordered the SEM through Surety, but it has not arrived yet.

Thank you

Thanks!

I removed an iControl PIMv2 that was installed for an old Xfinity system that the 6160 keypad was wired into. I tightened up some wires and it started to work where I could use the backdoor technique. Glad I didn’t quit…!

Glad to hear you were able to resolve. Yes, the backdoor option on a Vista should work in every instance.
