Howdy,
It’s been 5 years since I purchased my carbon monoxide detectors from you guys and they both signaled EOL within 2 days of each other. I ordered one already, but cannot seem to get it to work. After watching this video, I just went into the existing entry and just changed the serial number to the new one. Aparently, that’s not enough. Can you fix me remotely or guide me? I tried to fix the upstairs unit (they’re both listed as malfunctioning).
Thank you,
Jason
…I just ordered the second one - If you can program it before sending it, that would be epic. It’s the downstairs replacement.
Swapping the serial number would in fact be all that is needed in order to swap out to the same model of device.
However, to clear any malfunctions or errors, you would want to be sure that you learn in and then test the device. If no signal is received by the panel yet, it won’t know the issue is resolved until supervision interval. Try tampering the new CO detector. Does it report on the panel? If not be sure to check the battery polarity.
Also it is best to use shift - learn, then tamper the sensor, rather than manually typing in the TXID.
Cool, I don’t recall tampering it so I’ll start there. If that does not work, then I’ll try the shift-learn method.
I’ll report back if that works here in a few hours.
Thanks!
Tampering the device worked. Thanks again Jason - you are a big help!
