Repeaters - GE 80-922-1 vs Resolution RE120

Is one preferred over the other?

Battery backup seems less complicated with the RE120 (AA alkaline instead of lead-acid). My understanding is that the GE product can repeat selective sensors, but the RE120 repeats everything it receives. The latter seems like it could cause duplicates to be received by the IQ panel or cause interference, but I don’t know if that’s a real issue. The RE120 is half the price of the GE product.

The biggest functional difference would be supported devices. It looks like the GE 80-922-1 supports life safety, smoke detectors.

The RE120 does not repeat smoke detector signals.

It is actually a very effective method of overcoming interference. As the panel does not re-transmit, this is not a concern.

This is a good thing to think about though, because indeed if two or more repeaters are installed in the location it can cause a constant signal loop. Only use one per installation.

Note the 80-922-01 would require RFPIC 8.2 or higher in your IQ Panel.
