Removing an Image Sensor

I’m trying to remove an Image Sensor, that I have had issues with, from my panel so that I can do a hard reset and then add it to the panel again to get it working. I have tried many times to remove the sensor using the procedure shown here

But the problem is that, the panel does not let me change the serial # of the sensor to 0, I have attached PICTURE, it says this is read only value. Also at the end it does not let me save.

Default it all.
Hold reset button in on IS for approx 45 sec to default it
Mark IS zone type as 00 “unused”, default/zero everything else out for the zone

The video provided is for standard security sensors. Image sensors are set up in a slightly different fashion.

From the manual:

"Insert a paperclip into the hole on the front of the sensor to access the reset button. Press and hold for 3 seconds to power cycle the sensor. Press and hold for at least a full 10
seconds until the sensor LED flashes rapidly for at least two seconds to reset the sensor
and clear it from its network. The sensor must be reset prior to enrolling in a new network.
"

You can change all other values on the 2Gig panel to default unused value for that sensor. Reset locally.

I’m having a similar issue.

However when I attempt to reset the device with a paperclip. Nothing happens. No lights no response. Now I can’t exit out without getting an error about Serial Number being wrong. I can’t use the learn function since device is faulty and the Serial Number field is Read Only.

So sorry to hear that. We’re happy to help but there isn’t much I can suggest until Monday when our tech support staff is in the office and we can discuss with Nortek if necessary. We’ll follow up then. Have a great weekend!

Are you trying to remove an image sensor from programming, or add a new one?

Marking the zone as an Unused zone type is enough for the panel to disregard that zone.

If you were trying to learn in an image sensor which failed to learn in, then you would need to change the RF Sensor Type back to (0) Unused and change the Equipment Code to something other than 9999 Image Sensor.

That equipment code value is what makes the RF ID field a read only value which only accepts Image Sensors, and the RF Sensor Type set to anything other than (0) Unused makes the panel validate the RF serial ID for that zone.

Now, all that said, If you are noticing no LED activity at all on the image sensor, the first thing I would check is the battery polarity and charge. It is possible that one or more of the batteries is dead, and it could be that the battery is inserted in the wrong orientation. Is this a new Image Sensor or has it been used successfully before?
