Hey guys I chanGe the battery in the shed door tilt sensor today the system never reported a tamper at all this is weird cause it should always report and it not showing on alarm.com side either I’m starting to wonder if all my sensors r gonna have to be replaced on the panel I know I been replace smokes but wondering if it gonna need to happen to the whole System
Which sensor is it on your system? What is the zone number or name?
What model of sensor is it?
If the battery was reporting low for a while it is entirely likely that it has limited signaling power and the signal did not reach the panel. After replacing the battery does it tamper reliably?
Is was shed door on the panel I think zone 3 and it resolution tilt sensor but it hadn’t been reporting a low battery but it had been causing the alarm to trip a lot of I decided to replace the battery see if that helps but even when I tampered it it didn’t even alert me or anything I went ahead an order a new powerg outdoor sensor cause now it just showing offline so I think the whole sensor is going bad
That is possible, how old is the sensor?
the sensor is prob like a year 1/2 but since i have installed this panel several of my sensors have started acting weird im currently in the process of replacing 2 of the smokes because 1 wanted to false alarm for some reason so im replacing both smoke detectors and i have add 2 new smokes and now that shed door sensor is gonna act up as well so im gonna replace it with a new outdoor powerg sensor
If the Shed sensor is still learned in, I would check to make sure the battery is new charged to where it should be. Then I would look at how far away from the main panel it is.
Then look at the environment. Metal like sheet metal or HVAC ducts etc. can impede the signal being sent.
What would cause the sensor to just to start acting up now that since had been installed over a year and never had an issue
Power issues (low battery) or something in the environment that is blocking/ bouncing the signal (like metal).
Could be the device itself. Resolution Tilt RE206 sensor correct? The operating temperature range is 32 to 120 °F (0 to 49 °C). If mounted outside and it gets exposed to temps outside that range, it could go bad prematurely.
I kinda figure it somthing with the device I know resolution products aren’t the best and I figured the new outdoor sensor from powerg will fix my prob
