In the product description for the IQ Panel 4, it is stated that you recommend Verizon, unless AT&T has better coverage in your area.
Is Verizon superior for alarm purposes? The reason I am asking is because in my condo, both my AT&T and T-Mobile phones have signal strength indications of 2 out of 4 bars.
I don’t have access to a Verizon phone so I don’t know whether Verizon would be better or worse. I live in a heavily populated area (Rockville, MD 20852) so I am sure Verizon coverage is at least adequate).
I am not sure how to proceed at this point. I have no way of testing Verizon vs AT&T signal strength without a Verizon device.
We recommend Verizon for its generally wider coverage. I’ve checked our records, and there are multiple customers in the Rockville, MD 20852 area using both Verizon and AT&T successfully with sufficient signal strength for alarm monitoring, mainly Verizon.
To help you make a decision, I would recommend checking the carrier coverage maps for both AT&T and Verizon. If you find that AT&T provides better coverage in your condo, we can certainly accommodate that. Just make a note on the order when checking out with a panel. While we can’t test Verizon’s signal strength for you directly, from what I am seeing the signal should be sufficient for coverage in your area.
