Hi All, We live in a Verizon dead zone (cell phones won’t even make a phone call). The IQ2+ panel used to get 1 bar, which was good enough, but more recently has been getting 0 bars with failed cellular test. Is there any way to swap out the cellular for T-mobile or AT&T? Thanks.
I am sorry to hear this, but I am happy to assist.
The module is integrated and cannot be swapped. A new panel would be required. The IQ Panel 2+ only comes in Verizon and AT&T, T-Mobile is not an available option.
There are a few things I would try first.
- Perform a full power cycle of the system and leave it off for a couple minutes. This will allow it to reconnect to the tower, and often resolves signaling issues.
- Relocating the panel to a new area. Try to keep it on an outer wall and not in a closet or basement.
To power cycle:
- Disarm the System
- Power down from the panel (Settings > Adv Settings > Power Down)
- Unplug the Power Supply from the wall
- Open the panel and disconnect the internal battery
- Leave the panel completely off for at least 2 minutes
- After 2 minutes minimum, plug in the battery and power supply
After boot up, wait 5 minutes and check signal strength, any change?
Hi Tyler, thanks! No luck with the power cycle, unfortunately. Maybe I’ll try testing it outside the house just to see if I have any hope with modifying placement inside. -John
Make sure you disable Power Management so you can run on battery power and perform a cell test. This is found in Settings > Advanced Settings > Installation > Installer Settings. Access will require the Installer Code.
