I have used my alarm system for more than a year without any problems whatsoever, but I suddenly began to have cellular connectivity errors. Specifically, the Cellular Connection in Settings shows “No Signal,” and the Cellular Signal Strength is "1 bar (0/31)."When I run a cellular test, it states, “No connection, please wait.”
Can you please assist me with getting this corrected?
I’ve gone through several tutorials and reviewed the technical support forums for assistance, but I cannot find a solution to this problem. I went from having wonderful connectivity to no connectivity whatsoever. Can you please give me a phone number so that I can talk to a real person to help me with this? I need to speak to someone to get this resolved as soon as that person is available.
Happy to help! Please note that all suretyDIY technical support occurs here through our forum. Believe it or not, I am a real person.
I am seeing intermittent poor signaling and high registration times going back a while, and I see our customer service team has sent a number of emails regarding this starting 7/3/2018.
It looks like the issue presents intermittently, with some reports of extremely high registration times (a value used to measure cell connection)
This appears to be regarding a first generation Qolsys IQ Panel. Unfortunately the cellular module/carrier and antenna in the IQ Panel cannot be replaced so there is a bit less possible troubleshooting that can be performed, however, there are some things we can try.
First you should try powering down your panel for a full 2-3 minutes before powering back up. This will force a re-connection of the cell module to local carrier network and may resolve an issue with registration.
Follow these steps to power down the system:
1.Select “Settings” from the home screen
2.Enter the installer or master code.
3.Select “Power Down”
4.Wait for panel LEDs to turn off
5.Disconnect the power, transformer first, then battery.
6.Wait 2-3 full minutes, if you do not wait this long there will be no benefit
7.Connect battery, then close up the panel and plug in the transformer.
Wait 5-10 minutes after boot-up then try running a cell phone test. Any change?
