I have a Qolsys IQ4 panel with a Qolsys QS5210-840 Wireless Carbon Monoxide Detector. I’ve had the system for about 8 years (upgraded from IQ2 to the 4). I replaced the CO detector maybe 3 1/2 years ago. All of a sudden it failed. Not quite 5 years but okay. Bought a new one. It wouldn’t auto learn in but I manually entered it. Shortly thereafter it said it was failing. Then it would come back online. Then it wasn’t communicating with the panel. Similar to what the old one was doing. It is located in the basement. The panel is on the main floor. Right now the CO detector is sitting by the panel. No issues. Is this a panel issue?

Thanks for providing those details. Since the new CO detector is communicating properly when it is placed near the IQ Panel 4, this would suggest that the detector itself is functioning and that the issue may be related to wireless signal strength at its original location in the basement.
The QS5210-840 communicates with the IQ Panel 4 through its RF connection, so the distance between the detector and panel, along with walls, floors, concrete, metal, or other materials in between, can affect communication. As a test, please move the detector back toward its original location a few feet at a time and monitor its communication with the panel. This would also help check the location where the signal starts to be unreliable.
If the detector starts to become unreliable again when returned to the basement location, this would point more toward a range or RF attenuation issue rather than a problem with the panel itself. Please let us know what you have observed.
If reliable communication cannot be maintained at that location, we can look into other options, such as using a PowerG CO detector, which generally provides greater wireless range.
