Hello, can the Qolsys panel trigger different light scenes based on what user code disarms the system? thanks
If you have the Home or Complete plan through Surety, automation rules can be created in Alarm.com to automate lights based on the system being Disarmed, but this applies to any method of disarming and cannot be specified to a user at this time.
Thanks. Really trying to find a way to have different users trigger different things as had it that way with Vista panel
We’re happy to forward feature requests to Alarm.com. Would you mind providing a brief description of a specific rule set up you would want to use?
I’m running the panel alongside a Lutron and C4 system and I’m trying to run automation in c4 depending on whether we are home or someone else is there (ie cleanigs, maintance etc). It is a second home so we aren’t ther for stretches and I don’t need all the automation to run if it just workers for a few hours. With a vista panel c4 directly can see what user code disarmed the system. That would be ideal. A workaround is for the panel to trigger some other automation based on user code that c4 can see. Turning on a specific Lutron light for example would do this. Can the panel do anything different asked on user codes currently
Control4 actually has direct integration with the IQ Panel, and there may be some additional abilities you could use to acheive the desired results. Here is a link to the set up instructions. I am not 100% certain whether user slots which disarmed the system are shared, but if so you may be able to automate within Control4
Yea that is all set up. They said your API doesn lt show them different user codes just arm / disarm
The only option I can think of wouldn’t be perfectly reliable, but you can set up notifications in Alarm.com when a user disarms the system, then you could use that email notification to trigger an action using something like IFTTT.

To clarify, Surety does not manufacture the panel or develop its related software, that would be the manufacturer, Qolsys.
I’ll try that
Yea the ecosystem is complicated
I’ve tried reaching out to Qolsys but they only offer technical support to dealers, so maybe you can register the request with them??
I tried the email approach with IFTTT but that doesn’t work ethers IFTTT requires email come from me and the panel notifications come from surety email address
This is more likely to be an Alarm.com enhancement to automation rules set up in Alarm.com. Happy to forward the request to Qolsys as well though.
Here is a similar IFTTT question found online, with a mention of a potential work-around.
Are you able to set up automatic forwarding of those particular notifications to another address? If you can create a trigger based on you sending an email would that work?
ive been trying to do that all morning and for some reasons emails from surety dont forward reliably - super frustrated at this point as I went his route as it was suppose to be smart vs the vista 100 year old panel I had.
I dont know how to connect with alarm.com either as everyone says to go through the provider this is you

Correct, I am forwarding this as a feature request to Alarm.com to potentially add this ability to Alarm.com automation rules in the future.
In my prior response the reason I say this is more likely to be an ADC enhancement is that ADC makes weekly site updates and while I can’t guarantee it would be prioritized, they release new features all the time.
You might also look at possible SMS notification integrations with IFTTT. I am not sure if that is possible.
thanks - you have been helpful.
wha would be great is
- ability to change from email address for notifications
- ability to change notification subject and message
- ability to trigger automatons depending on user code
ad of course directly passing onto control4 the user code being used would be best
or direct ifttt integration
Hello, Inteod the IFTTT approach and that proved unreliable. Assume you never heard from Qolsys or Alarm.com re just being able to trigger off of user codes?
I do not have any ETA at this time, though it is a good idea and hopefully it will be included in a future update.
