Which panel is more popular? Replacing a Concord 4 WITHOUT saving any of the old sensors. So this can be considered a CLEAN INSTALL. Need to have a House and Detached Garage Partition. The Garage only has a signal bus wire ran (of course, underground) and would like to have the “Touch Pad” keypads. I might add, that the new garage already has the walls closed in, so wired sensors are not an option. Because of who it is, No is not an answer. thank You in advance.
Id recommend a IQ 4 with All Powerg sensors u can also add touchscreens or Push button wireless Powerg keypads to the garge even set as separate partitions
I couldnt speak to the popularity of one panel type over the other, as we only sell the Qolsys IQ Panel 4, it is the most popular of the 3 for us. The Edge is relatively new and is more or less the same as the GC3 with some enhancements. The Vista is a solid panel and has been around for awhile. You will need a SEM-300 System Enhancement Module to connect it to ADC.
Of the 3 the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 or the Edge are going to be the most user friendly.
Both offer encrypted wireless sensors as well.
Need to have a House and Detached Garage Partition
Partitioning is available on the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 , the 2GIG Edge and Vista 20p.
- Qolsys IQ Panel 4 has 4 partitions,
- Edge has 4 Partitions (2GIG calls them Smart Areas) and the
- Vista has 2 partitions with 1 common partition (partition 3) that arms to the lowest arming state depending on the other two partitions?
and would like to have the “Touch Pad” keypads
Touch screen keypads are available for all 3 as well
- Qolsys IQ Remote (QW9104-840)
- 2GIG Edge Remote Keypad (2GIG-EDG-RK)
- Vista, Honeywell Tuxedo Touch
I might add, that the new garage already has the walls closed in, so wired sensors are not an option. Because of who it is, No is not an answer.
Wireless sensors have a communication range between it and the panel. Once the sensor is outside that range, or there are too many other factors impeding its signal, they cease to function reliably (if at all)
Both the Edge and the Vista can use 345Mhz wireless sensors, which have a range of roughly 350-400 feet or so, open air.
Qolsys brand S-Line sensors are closer to 600 feet open air and DSC brand PowerG sensors are closer to 2,000 feet open air, when connected to a Qolsys IQ Panel 4.
Transmission distances will be shorter indoors depending on things like construction, etc.
