Problem with Resolution Products RE524X

Hi,

I purchased the RE524X after noticing that several sensors on my GC2 system seemed to be having connectivity issues due to the layout of my home. I had asked my alarm company about a repeater, and they did not have one they offered, so I researched and found the RE524 and purchased it here. Yesterday, my alarm company tech came by to add some equipment, and he agreed to also install the repeater. After mounting it, he could not get it to link to the GC2 panel. He called Resolution and they had him verify power, which was easy since the red and green lights were solid. The resolution tech stated that the red light should be flashing, which it wasn’t. They tried disconnecting the power and battery, then re-powering. No change. Resolution asked my tech to press the tamper button, but that did nothing. Resolution seemed to think that the tamper button could be the problem and that the device should be replaced. How should I proceed? Thank you!

We’re missing a couple steps here, but the main point would be that he was attempting to use the RE524X tamper button to learn the translator into the panel?

Did the tech pre-select the appropriate sensor and panel radio types? What are the dials set to?

Was the lock wire cut? (it should not be)

Note that the tamper button is a small black plunger button on the right hand side of the 524X when open. A metal tab exists on the left side which depresses the switch, but it is not the switch. You can check the tamper by powering up the RE524X and pressing the tamper button (just above and right of the “Configure” button.)

Does the Batt/TX LED flash for a second or two after pressing the tamper?
