It’s a fantastic way to make sure packages don’t get stolen. The question is, are you comfortable remotely unlocking the door for the delivery person?
I am, but I’ll bet many people aren’t.
I do this now with the Postal Service worker that I know and I also have a camera pointing on the inside of my door.
My goal is to eventually do the same with the garage door once I place a camera in there.
I guess the way I see it is even if the delivery person had bad intentions, I would have a video clip showing who they are and I would be able to see what they’re doing so I could call the police right away if something looked wrong. I suspect people will open up to this more thanks to Amazon Key.
The biggest thing for me is to know the person that is delivering the package. Not everyone will agree with this, but to each their own. It beats having the package sitting outside. If the person I normally open the door for sees I don’t answer, he normally hides the package in a location that he and I agreed on.
