So starting a system from scratch and I ordered the PowerG shock sensors for all doors and windows…
My question is should I have just gone for the normal PowerG door / window sensors for the windows? I am reading now that these shock sensors might be too sensitive?
Also I can’t seem to figure out how to enroll this so that it both acts as a shock sensor and a door sensor.
It depends on what you are looking to cover with the sensor. If shock is not needed, then I would go with the PG9303 as they have a much smaller profile but still offer the same range and encryption.
The PG9935 is larger, so it can contain the necessary hardware for the shock.
How did you learn in the PG9935? Which portion of the sensor is not working, door contact or shock? Is the included magnet in use?
To enroll, navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > enter Installer Code (default 1111) > Installation > Devices > Security Devices > Auto-Learn Sensor.
Then open up the sensor and insert new batteries (or remove the pull tab separating the battery from the internal contact), then press and hold its enrollment button until the LED light remains steady. Then release the enrollment button to auto-enroll?
You will need to choose “Door-Window M” for sensor type in order to use both Shock and DW Contact.
