I need a Power G garage door tilt sensor for a remote garage door. I can’t use a standard door/window sensor as the cabling on the door rips it off. After extensive research, I have only found one product ( Qolsys Qs-5310-P01) but am unable to determine if this has the Power G protocol.
Any ideas or alternative approaches to getting a remote garage door alarmed?
The Qs-5310-P01 is 319.5 MHz, not PowerG.
I don’t think there is a PowerG tilt sensor but if you need it to be PowerG you can put a wired sensor on the garage door and connect it to a PowerG sensor with an auxiliary input such as the PG9945.
The wired sensor can be a magnetic contact instead of a tilt sensor. There are outdoor wired contacts. Some are even specifically made for garage doors and have a large tolerance for movement from wind.
I’ve heard of people rigging their own tilt sensors by putting an magnetic contact on a hinge so it swings open when the garage door is up. You could use an outdoor PowerG contact for this.
