Post Install - Locks & Duress + Firefighter Questions

I think this is my last batch of questions

Duress question - I’m using the Kwikset 914 Z-Wave locks in case the model matters. I have a rule created that if someone unlocks one of my exterior locks with a code, the system disarms the alarm.

If we were being forced into the home - if someone unlocked the door with the duress code, will the panel respond by disarming the system and signaling a duress condition to the monitoring station?

If not - is there another way to accomplish that?

Smoke / Fire / CO2 and Locks. I created a rule that if the Firefighter signals smoke / fire / co2 - that the front door unlocks, but I was unable to add more locks to that rule, or even create a separate rule for my other 2 locks. if I pick alarm / fire / co2 in the rules - I’m only given the option of automating lights. if I try to pick locks, it says that it’s not compatible with the current trigger.

Thanks!

Yes, lock triggered duress is an available feature.

Visit your users page in Alarm.com and edit the duress user to sync with locks. In a Lock-Triggered Duress event, you are causing a duress alarm signal by using a designated panel duress code to unlock the lock. Alarm.com forwards a duress alarm to the monitoring station.

The Unlock rule on fire alarm activation is specified by Alarm.com to be a rule that unlocks a single door. Currently that particular automation is limited to one door. We’ve discussed this with ADC before and requested that users be able to choose multiple doors. I’ll send that request over again.

If you do set this rule up and you have professional monitoring through Surety, reach out to us via PM or email support@suretyhome.com and let us know the name of the door that is set up to auto unlock. We can add that as a note on your monitoring account which operators can pass to emergency responders in the event of a fire.

great news. i already did that - the duress user is synced to all of my locks - i just wanted to confirm that this would work.

that would be great. certainly in the event of a smoke / fire / co2 event - i’d want to make sure that emergency services would easily be able to get into the home via any of my doors, in the case that the one i identified was blocked somehow.

done.

thanks again!
