possible thermostat fan "circulate " bug (t2000)

I noticed this last spring/summer after ADC did some changes, and apparently it never was fixed.

Issue on T2000:
If heat/cool mode is off, and circulate fan mode is then enabled, and then fan mode is set back to ‘auto’ while the fan/blower is still actively running in the cycle either via panel thermostat control (2GIG GC2), or via alarm.com web app (did not try via mobile), fan continues to run nonstop (like it would if fan set to ‘on’) and does not shutoff.

The only way I have been able to get fan to turn off in such circumstances is to set mode to heat or cool so that ‘auto’ fan is enabled and turns off at Setpoint.

Dunno if it makes a difference, but in my case with the fan circulation issue, it would run in “circulation” for a significant time (hours), prior to then being set to ‘auto’. (I have not tested to see if circulation cycle time duration is significant or not, It may have no bearing on the ‘bug’ at all)

If the circulation cycle wasn’t actually blowing, everything was fine, but if it was blowing at the time it went from ‘circulation’ to ‘auto’, the fan just keeps on running .

If it is a bug, should be fairly easy to replicate.

advanced settings for ‘circulate’:

Fan Circulation Period: 20 min
Fan Circulation Duty Cycle: 25%
Fan Purge: 1 min
Enable Fan ON Control: Disabled

We’ve requested a follow up from ADC on this. I do remember this being worked on. I’m curious if the fix was implemented in ADCT2000 firmware.

I have the same issue with the 2GIG CT-100. I want the fan to run continuously. Setting it to ON on the CT-100 only lasts for 24 hours. I feel like it’s mimicking the functionality of the ADC app where you can only set the fan to run from 24 hours.

As Riven notes, this is a recent issue. I used to be able to manually set the fan to run continuously on the CT-100 but now it’s limited to 24 hours.

Check out the Advanced Tab of your CT100 configuration on Alarm.com. Make sure FAN ON Control is enabled. “ON” without a time limit should be a choice if enabled. (If not a suretyDIY subscriber you may need to contact your provider regarding advanced config.)

Thanks. Under the advanced configuration tab, I only have the Swing parameter. I’ve submitted a request to my service provider. Thank you again for the help.
