PIR Sensor Triggering Issue

Hi,

I recently installed the 2gig PIR sensor and it is triggering ever time I activate the alarm. Even when I pointed it toward a wall. Have you any experience with other customers and this sensor with the GC3 panel?

I still have 3 zones inherited from the previous owner that remain open and am still working to test if it is the magnets or the wiring still. Until it is resolved, I am bypassing the zones and relying on the motion/glass break sensors.

Also, I saw that Jason this past week mentioned that the Linear zwave garage sensor is not supported by Alarm.com. I see it on their site and have sent them an inquiry. They said it was up to the dealer to activate it. Can you confirm if it is something suretyDIY can turn on? I would like to get a sensor to install. Thanks!

All the best!

Linear Zwave Control through Alarm.com is an included feature of any Gold Interactive service plan.

The distinction is compatibility with the panel itself. I’ve been given conflicting information even just today:

Alarm.com states they have been able to use them through the GC3 using the remote interface.

2GIG states (just moments ago) they are not compatible at all yet and the firmware needed to support them will be coming out soon.

It’s not that one is wrong exactly, but Alarm.com is not referring to local controls and I cannot vouch for how much testing has been performed. Generally, I would go by what the panel manufacturer supports first and foremost. If you try to add one to your GC3 though, please let us know if you run into troubles or if it works well through ADC at this time.

As another example, I have successfully tested a Yale lock which was noted by 2GIG as not fully compatible yet. I can control the lock through Alarm.com and locally, but the manufacturer of the lock does not populate appropriately. Any device not officially supported by the manufacturer will have varying degrees of issues.

The 2GIG PIR-345 should work fine with the GC3. Is the alarm sounding immediately upon arming away, or do you mean you are just having a lot of false alarms while armed away?
