I’m trying to connect COSMOD2W to my PG9HRDW8. The information available online seems to be a little bit contradictory, so creating this thread to get some clarity, especially on the “official” installation approach that is approved by QolSys.
I have seen two versions of this installation:
a) Connecting COSMOD2W directly to PG9HRDW8. Use PGM2 for power. Use two of the zones in the main module, one for smoke and another for CO.
b) Connecting COSMOD2W to multiple extension modules. For power, connecting to HSM2300 with a relay connected to PGM2 to cut the power. And for the zones, separating the smoke zone and CO; one on the main module and the other on a HSM2108.
So my questions are:

Are both setups correct? What are the limitations of setup a compared to b?

For setup b, what is the officially approved relay model?

I’m interested in having two separate COSMOD2W units, so I can get smoke alerts that distinguish the location in the house. How would that setup look like?
